UNS S31803 is the representative grade of duplex stainless steel containing 22% chromium and 5% nickel, often referred to as Alloy 2205. This material has very good general corrosion resistance and high strength is the most widely used duplex grade.

The grade 2205 offers excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion, pitting and crevice corrosion combined with its resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking at temperatures 50- 300ºC. The Alloy 2205 stainless steel is extremely versatile with many applications in the oil and gas, petrochemical, and chemical processing industries.
