Similar to Sandvik Sanicro 28, alloy 28 is a type of ultra-low carbon nickel-iron-chromium Austenite alloy with additions of molybdenum and copper and it is stainless steel grade with the highest nickel content. It has good corrosion resistance in a strong acid environment and stress corrosion cracking resistance in hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and chloride environments. In addition, it also has excellent resistance to pitting, crevice, intergranular, stress corrosion and cracking, and good weldability. Due to these outstanding corrosion properties, alloy 28 can be used in the most diverse environments.
